To transform cutting-edge science into effective medicines, we teamed up to design an innovative mRNA vaccine platform to fight infectious diseases and cancer. Inspired by nature, we developed mRNA vaccine technologies to induce faster, regulated and durable immune responses through fine-tuned control of the mammalian immune system.
Meet the team

Dr. Báfica has led scientific discoveries in the field of immunology and human pathogens, contributing to adjuvants and vaccine development. He developed solid scientific work at world-class institutions such as the National Institutes of Health, Rockefeller University and New York University, and was a nominated member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine. His contributions were recognized with awards including the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Early Career Investigator Competition and GRIP R01 NIH. Dr. Báfica is an associate professor at UFSC and a member of the Halo Team, a United Nations Verified Initiative helping end the pandemic.

Dr. Mansur's breakthrough research in molecular virology has contributed to unraveling innate recognition pathways of DNA and RNA viruses. Prior to forming his group in Brazil, he worked at world-class institutions such as Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge, securing funding for vaccine development and flavivirus biology from sources such as GSK and the Newton Fund / Royal Society. Dr. Mansur is a Brazilian leader in molecular virology and the development of CRISPR-based gene editing tools to understand microbial pathogenesis, and is an associate professor at UFSC.

Director of the Center for Experimental Therapeutics and Reperfusion Injury at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Recipient of an NIH MERIT Award, the William Harvey Outstanding Scientist Medal, the AAAS Fellowship, the Society for Leukocyte Biology Bonazinga Award, the ACR Hench Award Lecture, the IUBMB Lecture Medal, the Ross Prize in Molecular Medicine, and the International Eicosanoid Research Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award, among more than 50 keynote and plenary lectures delivered worldwide.

Professor of Immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine, member of Yale Cancer Center, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. His research focuses on the innate immune system, inflammatory response, innate control of adaptive immunity, and host-pathogen interactions. Recipient of the William Coley Award, the Emil von Behring Award, the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists, the Lewis S. Rosenstiel Award for Distinguished Work in Basic Medical Research, and the Dickson Prize.
